Joseph Franciszek Lyszczasz
Joseph, the youngest of Magdalena & Frank's children, was born at home on Florida Street on July 18, 1930. Unaware of his baptismal middle name, Joe adopted Alexander (confirmation name in honor of his brother) as a legal middle name. Joseph attended St Adalbert's grammar school and Thomas Edison Vocational School in Elizabeth where he studied auto mechanics.
Joe's working career started with various small jobs like working in a bakery aside his brothers, Al & Henry. Joe became an expert in filling jelly donuts! After a stint in the US Army in 1948, Joe signed up for the reserves until 1956. During this time period, he worked as a mechanic at Morey La Rue where he met his future wife, Mary Lou Evers. Most of Joe's career was as a gifted tool & die maker until his retirement in 1992.

Joe & Mary Lou married in June 18, 1955 after a courtship that began on Labor Day weekend 1954 and recently celebrated their Golden Anniversary with a family reunion/picnic. Joe & Mary Lou have three children (Marie, Nancy & Tom {and many beloved furry ones especially Kelli!) and three grandchildren (Mike, Matt & Laura).

Shortly after the birth of his second daughter, Joe & Mary Lou legally changed their last name to Lystash, an American adaptation of Lyszczasz.

Joe & Mary Lou enjoyed traveling and have visited five of the six major continents. Joe was very gifted and could fix anything from cars to electronics. He was an artist as well, painting and woodcrafts among his most noteworthy talents!

Joseph was called to join God in Heaven on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed away peacefully after a courageous 18 year battle against cancer.

He will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him untill they are reunited again in Paradise. Godspeed Poppi. Eternal love.
